{"id":1361,"date":"2021-05-26T20:27:04","date_gmt":"2021-05-26T18:27:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ikasplay.com\/proyecto-susmile-successful-online-learning-for-sustainable-last-mile-logistics\/"},"modified":"2022-06-27T15:50:17","modified_gmt":"2022-06-27T13:50:17","slug":"proyecto-susmile-successful-online-learning-for-sustainable-last-mile-logistics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ikasplay.com\/en\/proyecto-susmile-successful-online-learning-for-sustainable-last-mile-logistics\/","title":{"rendered":"SUSMILE PROJECT: Successful online learning for sustainable last mile logistics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1357\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ikasplay.com\/site\/contenido\/media\/LogoErasmusSusmile.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"623\" height=\"325\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">We are happy to announce the launching of the <strong>SUSMILE project<\/strong> (\u201cSuccessful online learning for sustainable last mile logistics\u201d project), a 2-year <strong>ERASMUS+ Strategic<\/strong> Partnership that brings together 8 partners from 4 European countries that will <strong>contribute to build digital education readiness<\/strong> by addressing this challenge through the provision of effective and inclusive teaching tools, materials, resources and methods to ensure distance learning in the area of sustainable last mile logistics. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1346\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ikasplay.com\/site\/contenido\/media\/logoEU.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"264\" height=\"76\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">The SUSMILE project, coordinated by the Mobility and Logistics Cluster of the Basque Country is f<strong>unded by the European Commission<\/strong>, through SEPIE, the Spanish National Agency for International Education, and <strong>its final aim is to develop an eLearning course on MOOC<\/strong> (Massive Open Online Course), <strong>integrating high quality digital eLearning resources for VET providers<\/strong> to be able to train their students online on fresh, practical and innovative concepts r<strong>elated to sustainable last mile logistics<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><em>What is the importance of this project today, during the pandemic? <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">VET teachers and trainers have faced many challenges in their efforts to respond to the current COVID-19 crisis. Distance learning measures have shown lack of adapted means, training materials and tools throughout Europe and across all VET qualifications. The transport and logistics sector is also sensitive to the challenges of the VET system that have arisen with the pandemic, especially in the last mile delivery with the increase of online commerce (e-commerce).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">In this context, the SUSMILE open educational resource will contain the following innovative online resources and tools:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong>eLearning modules<\/strong> to address initial and continuing education, including theory and evaluation materials, to help the user acquire key knowledge in areas such as last mile distribution schemes, warehouse\/ consolidation centres\/ picking stations, routing systems, technologies, environmental impact and processes and product care.
